Dress Code
•Examples of dress code violations include, but are not limited to the following:
•Tall tees, sleepwear, exposed undergarments, doo-rags, sagging pants, oversized baggy pants, tank tops that expose the underarm, shorts or skirts that are shorter than the mid-thigh, bare midriff tops that expose the stomach and/or mid-section, low-cut shirts or blouses, strapless, spaghetti straps, see-through clothing, slits that go above the mid-thigh, bareback clothing.
•Examples of gang affiliation include, but are not limited to the following: •Bandanas, lettering with old English font, military belts, cholo/homie clothing or items with evidence of membership or affiliation in any gang and/or unauthorized club or organization, clothing and /or items.
•Prohibited Items: •Student cannot have in their possession any item or clothing that may cause a disruption and/or may cause a safety hazard. •Examples of prohibited items include, but are not limited to the following: •House slippers, heelys, chains on clothing, jewelry, accessories or make-up that disrupts or distracts, large facial piercings that disrupt the learning environment, torn clothing that exposes the skin.
•Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times, no headgear is permitted to be worn in the building, caps/hats worn outside will be worn with the bill facing forward, official school and team uniforms and items must be appropriately worn, athletic-style jerseys and mesh/see through type shirts must have a shirt underneath.
•If the student attends school in violation of the dress code as specified in campus policy, the student code of conduct or the handbook, he/she will be sent to the discipline office. The campus will make efforts to notify the parent/guardian as soon as possible. If the student comes into compliance with the dress and grooming standards, he/she will return to regular classes immediately.
